Commercial hangars for all climates:
Taurus Fabric Build can supply whatever sized hangar you required designed and engineered to a wind loading to suit your area. Open ended, single back wall, or fully enclosed with single doors or multiple staggered doors to accommodate the tail and the wings can be supplied to meet your needs.
One of the major benefits of fabric structures for commercial aviation is that they can be relocated in the future if the situation changes. In industries such as mining, mine sites may have a commercial life of 5-20 years, after which they are closed and the site rehabilitated. Fabric structure hangars give you the ability to relocate your valuable assets economically.
If a plane is delivering mine site staff or working a regional routes it may be require to sit on the tarmac for hours in the hot sun, or freezing conditions, for a number of hours prior to departing. These conditions are likely to be detrimental to the external components of the aircraft. Sun and UV damage are likely to be a very costly by-product of the contract. Added to this moisture, especially in the tropical areas and internal heat and UV penetration will also take their toll on the electronics and interior components.
Hangars for remote sites without tugs can be open ended enabling the plane to taxi through the hangar, using the hangar as an unloading station and parking area. Fabric covered walkways to terminal buildings can protect passengers and baggage handlers from the elements.
The modular flat pack buildings can be clad externally in your company colours to create eye catching structures for ticketing and customer service buildings. A smart relocatable solution to make your facility memorable.
Protect your aircraft with fabric structure hangars:
The container mounted and fabric to the ground structures can be used as cost effective open ended or fully enclosed hangars for light aircraft.
The hangar may also be fitted with fabric curtain, bi-fold or hydraulic lifting doors, depending on the frequency of use.
If using a container mounted structure as a hangar, the containers can be used as spare parts and fuel storage, offices or ablutions blocks. Modular flat pack buildings can be used for fully insulated (heat and acoustic insulation if required) offices and accommodation, with the fabric structure mounted directly onto the building.
The fabric structures give you the option to move the hangar in the future, if you relocate or if the conditions at the airport change.
When mounting the hangar on containers or modular structures you can utilise them for a number of uses as mentioned above. For some remote, seasonal operators at the end of the season they will remove the cover and store it in the container until they return the following year. The containers are also dust and mouse proof.
Taurus Fabric Build can also help with floor covering for hangars, from heavy duty interlocking panels to heavy shade cloth dust inhibitors or conveyor belt rubber strips to overcome moisture issues.
Factoring in the cost of UV and heat damage to an expensive aircraft with sensitive operating systems against the cost of a hangar, highlights the effectiveness of the investment.
Dividing off aircraft painting areas in existing hangars:
Taurus Fabric Build is experienced in dividing existing hangars with curtains, creating a multi purpose building. The service includes the curtains, running systems, air extraction and treatment and fire and aviation certifications.
The photo opposite is a project that was completed for John Holland aviation at Tullamarine, Melbourne. A 60m deep by 40m wide area was curtained off with 100m of 22m drop curtains plus up to 8m of ceiling trusses were sealed off. The painting area was primarily for painting 737 type aircraft.
The system included having a mobile curtain rail across the main gantry rails. This secondary mobile beam was parked against the far wall when not in use. Using this technology the main gantry was able to be used in the paint section for aircraft maintenance when it was not in use for painting.
